Sophia Perez is a current student at San Diego State University, pursuing degrees in classical voice and theater performance with a special focus on musical theater. She also serves as the soprano Choral Scholar at the Village Church of Rancho Santa Fe. Sophia began singing at a young age, leading her to fall in love with choir and theater. She went on to become the president of Mira Mesa High School’s Choir and Theater clubs where she sang in the advanced Madrigals group and performed in multiple musicals including The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Her passion for music and performing has continued to blossom as she has performed in several musicals at SDSU such as Into the Woods and Baby! while also studying classical vocal technique under the instruction of Laurinda Nikkel.

Sophia’s journey as a performer has instilled in her a profound love of music and a passion for supporting the musical journey of others. Sophia strives to create a fun and nurturing environment for students to feel empowered to explore, create, and grow as musicians and individuals!
